I've always had this little fascination with fire. It started when i was young, just ask me father about the time he had to drag the rug outside and douse it down before the place went with it, me & me bro got a tanning for that one! Then the time we set lite to my best friends house, (he's still my best friend 25 yrs later!). Then dads shed nearly went up too. So who's having me round for dinner? You can take the boy out of the site but you cant take the site out of the boy! There's something mesmeric about the flames, i'm not sure what it is but if i was growing up in todays world i'd be locked up for arson. We loved a fire and as kids regularly disappeared up the woods, built a fire and cooked on it, if me father knew the half of it!! Take care, the nomad

hi nomad bill ,havnt said hello yet an welcome, lol
well what can i say ,i was the same i set light to my grans shed, oooops,
she had a little shed with a hole in the roof so i made a chimnly by stacking some old broken chairs,an used her wooden sticks that she was keeping for her tomato plants,an made a little fire an she had a little metal tin that she kept her paint brushes in(like a cooking pot with a handle,so i hung that from the sticks,as soon as me an me brother lit the fire we decided to put it out (i got a bit worried)anyway me dinler brother got the first bottle he could find an chucked it on the fire,it was blimin white spirit an the whole lot went up! my god did i run me gran was in the house next door an me bruv got the hose pipe an tried to put it out,we managed without calling the fire brigade, anyway we only told my dad a few years ago, another time i was bunking off school,an decided to light a little fire near the park, well a lady was watching from her house recognised my school uniform an rang the school ,me an me friend was having a cushty time till the head of year turned up ,he said what the hell are you doing an i said well im sitting round the fire,we got dragged back to school with a severe ticking off from him,we werent doing any harm though an yes i spose i should have been at school, but hey never mind

I was talking with my bro the other day about fire. We both remember as kids that everytime we visited our grandparents there'd be a fire roaring on the bank. Dad always warned us to keep away but we never did. We'd have to poke it with a stick, roast some chestnuts & chuck anything on that'd burn! Then we'd go in and he'd say that he'd told us to keep away and we'd say that we did. Nevermind that the smell of your clothes and singed hairs would give you away. Kushti bok folki, the nomad

I set fire to my hair one day, messing about with a can of lighter gas, wind changed direction and whoosh - one side of my head completely singed. Then someone fired up the bins behind the local supermarket and it looked like i was in the frame. I promise, hand on heart that it wasn't me, but that gavver was sure and let's face it, i looked guilty didn't I? Take care folki, Nomad

Hey folki, how about the old hog roast? A whole pig on a spit over open yog. Tender lumps of pork in a nice soft roll with a little apple sauce. It's been a while since i've seen one of those. Nomad
