It's that time of year again, when the littl'uns all over the world are either back at school, or there already. With the weather turning and schoolwork at hand, homeschoolers and those that go to school alike are going to need a bit of a helping hand. So, for all of those out there who need something, whether adolescent or just a little chavvie, here's something for you!

http://www.sparknotes.com/ - Study guides for various subjects. Science and mathematics sections seem to be the best.

http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/ - A good, all-around study guide site.

http://highschoolace.com/ace/ace.cfm - Lots of secondary school resources all in one little spot.

http://school.discoveryeducation.com/homeworkhelp/homework_help_home.html - Provided by Discovery, it's full of little things to help you in various subjects in school.

http://www.ixquick.com/ - It's the world's most private search engine. It's good if you want a little more security when you're surfing the web for school stuff, since it doesn't record an IP address.

And, of course, Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org) and Youtube (www.youtube.com) are always best places to find articles and demonstrations, respectively, for all your schooling needs. :)

Happy School Year, Folki!

Unfortunately the choice to home school is in jeopardy. There is a petition to the Government asking that parents should still have the right to home school. I'm not sure how to post a link, but if you copy and paste the web addie below it will take you to the petition on the Government website. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Homeschooling/

Xienx. for your information, I have been fighting for more then a decade on this particular subject, as i said before a million times, that I want my people educated, whether they are at home or in school, but as I see it home education is not worth a while, because the teacher must be a proffetional teacher with a diploma, that is the only way he may be teached proparly, of course this is my opinion, I for my self was in school and also had a proffetional teacher at home, for money of course, because my father wanted it that way,

and, Xienx to continue about the education, in England, now I ask, how can travelers Gypsies give their children education when they are always on the road? to carve out a living, I say the government must help these Gypsies stabilize, give the modest houses to work in that particular part were they are and see to it that in schools the children are not discriminated, the teachers must tell all the pupils, in the class, about our promblem, and teach them that we are not the people that they think we are, and that we are all created iqual, etc. etc, then I am sure we will come to a good conclusion.
of course this is my opinion. on the other hand these Gypsies who love to tarvel, is their business and nobody elses

There is a Romani magistrate in Britain now. I forget her name - something like Clipson? I know she got sacked and then reinstated which is why her name vaguely sticks in my mind.

If anyone is struggling with school work please get in touch...I'm 23 and training to be a family solicitor but in my free time I help lots of local children all the way up to A-Level. I can speak French and Spanish and Latin. I'm happy to help over the phone or email with any school projects in any subject... I believe everyone should be given the chance to shine regardless of age, ethnicity, class or background!! Don't be afraid to get in touch even if its for help with basic reading and writing skills.
