| I once went to the fair in Belmullet, Co Mayo many many years ago but i also used to like going to goose fair but it has changed in my opinion. Everything seems to go commercial and about money, instead of having fun and a bonus if you make any money. :) |

It's been a long, long, long, long, (well, you get the picture?!LOL!) time since i went to a fair, i have to admit.
I remember i went to a fair in Yorkshire once as a child, (my mam tells me it was Appleby), and i wanted to ride the horses but my dad got mad and told me that "them's working horses, lass, you don't ride 'em , you ride ont wagon at back!". Dear a me, but i was so upset, see as much as i like them racing or showjumping horses, to me a REAL horse is a working horse, stocky, strong, beauties with fetlocks "likes feathers", as i used to say as a kiddie.
Yes i remember that fair, and that was a fair - so much to see, so much to hear, we were there from sunrise to sunset................... no good i'll just have to revisit Appleby next year!
All the best, Shahnee.

I visited Ballina a few times but never the fair. I miss Ireland, very peaceful and whenever i visited, it was always COLD.lol. I am seeing if i can get some work there but its vey quiet at the moment. I guess all fairs are a bit different today, times change so rapidly, along with people. |

Hi Sean and Kilby,
My great-grandfather came from Ireland - and one day i hope to go there and see where he lived.
I have a dream of a cottage with a stream running by it - and i know it's Ireland, don't ask me how! I have shared that dream with my bro and sis, we were very surprised when we realised we had had the same dream! The dream never changes just kinda runs along like a history - that's it i'm officially wierd! LOL!
All the best, Shahnee |

Kilby,
I have to apologise but what do red fucia hedges look like?
I know there was some kinda of hedging behind the cottage, but it looked kind of wild and to be honest i'm not sure what it was!! Also there where stepping stones across the stream.
The Cottage had one big room on the bottom, with this big hearth in the centre piece of the far wall and then you went up a ladder to the loft. In our dream we kiddies slept on sacking full of straw on the floor of the loft.
Ok - now the men in white jackets are at the front door! LOL!
Seriously though, i must sound daft talking about a dream!
All the best to you, Shahnee |

Hello Kilby - Now things are geting seriously strange!
I have never been to Ireland in my life - but those bushes look the ones in my dream!! It doen't have flowers on it though, i think it's because it's always cold in my dream, so maybe it's the wrong time of year? Do they flower at a particular time of year perhaps? I didn't realise they were fushia - i love those flowers, have done since i was a kiddie. (i'm not too clever remembering names of some plants, though i know me trees! LOL!)
All the best to you, Shahnee |

Hi Kilby,
Do you know what but i havn't heard that saying in many a year - "butterfly palm" - me granddad said that to me as a kiddie and then me mam shortened it to "butterfly". So i guess my answer to your question should be yes, eh?! LOL! I have to be honest never quite got what it meant - but me mam was called that too. Another little quirk of me family - for 5 generations all the women in me mam's side of the family have all been born in August, and me grandma passed the day before me mam/s birthday in August - strange, eh? LOL!
As for your "buzz" about me - i have to say that i get the strangest feeling i know you from somewhere but can't put my finger on it!
Take care my friend, All the best to you, Shahnee
