I think the rom do work, and i also know that there is rich and poor rom. just as there is with all people and i think it is ignorant to say they don't work or wont work.this is obviously a nonesence.
I met some roma from albiania, they came to england in the war as refugees. they refused to take welfare as they where ashamed to take money they had not earned.As a result there families where refused basic english lessions as other refugees can take, they had to pay there own rent in a house not fit to keep a dog in. the house was a small two up two dowm back to back and four of there men had to work 80 hours a week to pay the rent and keep themselves. they earned one pound per hour each in a iron foundery. i dont think they was lazy.

I am sorry if my words have caused regret among the readers, I honesty assure the meaning was not hurt anybody nor had I intention to talk about the matter either if I knew it being so hot potato.
I am directed my words to the people who wanted labelled themselves as Romany, wearing clothes in which they are ease to be recognized as a traditional Romany, and bearing this clothes and taking those clothes in the crimes, in that action they also draw all the romances in the rimes and so gained the reputation as it is. My words are aimed particular against this low morale folk that wanted to be recognizing as natural Romany. It’s provocation.
There is not nation, nor people who could endure for ever that – relative great part of men and women which make the word Romany sound like insult or accusation to belong in that nation
