Hello Shahnee, If you can make it to Selborne on October 11th then we will be very pleased to meet you.The best post code for a sat-nav to give you is that of the Selborne arms pub, because the car park at the back of that place is where most the visitors park when at Selborne. The village hall is just across the road to the left. The small village of Selborne is only a tiny place but has two pubs and a post office with general shop.I chose the location for a open day because of the great history of the parish and it's assosiation with Gypsies and travellers for centuries.Mainly because of the hop picking where travellers would make their way to Selborne each year for this event and stay encamped in the local hop gardens for about three weeks from end of August/September.The hall isn't as large as i hoped but i have all the extra rooms booked, and it has recently been all done up with modern equipment and extentions. My mother, Sheila, was christened at Selborne when my Grandparents were stopping in the hop field in a tent. Please bake the cakes if you get time, sounds kushti.I would love you to meet my family and all my good friends.I hope to be out of this blasted plaster caste on my right leg by that Saturday,i have a few step dancers and music makers lined up,hope the weather is ok,theres a few interesting things around the village.GU34 3JR. cheers,K

Hi Gypsy Hawkins,

Well you're in luck - me hubbie didn't really need his arm twisting that hard - he said yes straight ways! LOL!
We are really looking forward to it - sounds like it's guna be an interesting and enjoyable day, thanks for the invite!
As for some home baking - havn't done much since i got ill - but i think i can put the "boat out" on this occassion, lol!
Thanks for the postcode - that'll make things just a tad easier on my hubbie as he's the one driving.

Just a quick question - is it ok for wheelchair access? Only i have abit of trouble walking more then bout 12ft, so i use me electric wheelchair, but if it's a problem for you folki i will just take a few bursts at a time till i get to the front door - might take me while though! LOL!

It's not that big a deal really - just need to know the lay of the land, is all. Have wheels will travel, eh?! LOL!

I do hope that your cast comes off in time, All the best to you,
Shahnee

If you think i lie - just ask and i'll prove you wrong

Shahnee, hello again.I went to the out-patients this morning at Ascot.Had a x-ray and all was fine.Surgeon said it was a unusual break and they had to use a different Titanium plate to support my shattered ankle, the shape of a Cobra,he said, with holes at the bottom. They cut off my caste and took out all the metal staples, then plastered me back up again, this time blue(for Pompey).Should go back in three weeks to get it taken off,Sept 23rd.All looks fine for the open day on 11th October.Yes there is wheelchair access to the Selborne village hall.I got herself to drive me over to have a look last Saturday.I was also asked by someone else about wheelchairs as they was bringing their Auntie over who was in one. There is a little ramp upto the main door.It does seem a little tight for the electric mobiles to turn, but it doesnt look that bad for a skilled driver!,if we've got to carry you in then we will,no problem.I am pleased you understood what i was talking abount in my post.I just wish i could meet everybody and just be myself,it is so much better than talking to another across these sites,i can't bear talking on the telephone let alone leaving a message on one,i always hang up.That is what i enjoyed about my calling days,it was just me and them, sometimes youd win, sometimes you'd lose. When you come to Selborne you will soon see that i have to conduct several conversations at the same time sometimes at these gatherings. This is a plus side to a site like this, but i am used to talking to a lot at once,my mooie and jib often gets me into trouble then out of it ,then back in,then i have to go all around the houses again to rokker my way over it all again!See when your wits and your mouth are ya living you become a person of words,a talker,so when you say so much to so many,as i do,i find that you can't please all of the people all the time, only some of the people some of the time, who said that?.Only half the lies i tell these days area'nt true lol. All the best, Kerry

Hello Kerry,
I am pleased that the cast will be off in time for the Open day!
Don't worry on it too much as regards the electric wheelchair - if needs be i'll come in me old push along - n me hubbie'll be the one pushing!LOL!!

You know, i do understand what you're on about - i hate talking to answering machine meself, end up sounding like a heavy breather and then i just give up!LOL!

As for selling door to door - i have done a fair bit of that in me time - then i went into working in shops and pubs, and stayed there. Me mam said i could "sell oil to the Arabs"! LOL!

Sounds like me and thee could both talk the hind legs off a donkey - so should be a cushti rokker - we are really looking forward to meeting you and your family.

All the best to you and yours,
Shahnee
