Just to let you know that there is currently an e-petition in the Scottish Parliament asking for an official apology for the way in which Scottish Gypsy Travellers have been and are being treated by the authorities. From the petition: "Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to formally and publicly apologise for the ill treatment by governments and public bodies of the Scottish Gypsy Traveller community, with evidence clearly showing it to be one of the most marginalised and discriminated communities." You don't have to be resident in Scotland to sign the petition, which can be found at: http://epetitions.scottish.parliament.uk/view_petition.asp?PetitionID=407 Closing date for signatures is 24th September. The more signatures the petition gets, the better chance it has of being acted upon, so please consider signing it and let all your friends and relatives know about it too. Many thanks, aneta

its things like this that forum pages should be used for.
i also had a look at there forum page about the petition and that was a good read too.
we in england need another 1500- 2500 site pitches(private and social) building to avoid homelessness and unavoidable unauthorised camping for travellers and gypsies in the very near future.
if we get together and use our voices we might get something done towards getting them.

May the peace of the LORD be with you always. God Bless

my dear valerrierackly, it has been a long time since we did not write to each other, any way I liked what you have wrote, as for me it has has been years that I write to all Roma/Gypsies, to have their voices heard, through out the world, particularly in the Balkans mostly all of Europe, who still practice Discrimination, all though the Human rights and the UN, have past a law not to discriminate any one, but to no avail, look at France, the City of light, as some people call it, thay also are expeling our Roma/Gypsies away from their country, while millions of other ethnic people, are spared, why! I will tell you why, we are still considered the orphans of this world of ours, we have no country, but the other ethnic people who live iligaly in France are not touched, because they may be Muslims or Negros or any other nation, France does not want to offend these countries, because they have interests in their countries, they even burned the cars all over france because there was a rumer that these illigal persons will be send back to ther countries, and the head veils which was supposed to be out lawed in France, but till today they wear it, and Mr.Sharkozy does not do anytihng about it. i thought that a country like France should be like England, but no, we the Gypsies are stiil the scape goats in some countries that is why I said let
them hear our voices and our protests!
