hi..i was just wondering are gipsy people more looked down on now'' than any time' since the holocoust..i joind a horse forum to talk and mabe learn some more stuff on horses....some one started to talk about a gipsy's horse tiyd at a road side..this girl seid that she wanted to rescuw it from the gipo's..now she did not no i was a gipsy..i asked what have they done to the horse?..she seid they have tiyd it up and that is cruill..i seid have you told the RSPCA..SHE seid yes'' but they seid the horse was fed well and had water..so there was nothing they could do..well i seid its ok then?..she seid 'no thes dirty gipo's shudent have horses..??..i seid i'm a gipsy and iv never treated any horse bad ..and i seid remember ''gipsy cob's are bread by gipses for gipses and you bye them and there ok arnt they?..after that no one spoke to me ''and they wrote posts one after another saying...get the horse of 'of the dirty gipo...and them low life piky's..and loads more..well my old mam can write and she complaind and she seid if you can say gipo and piky ''can i say niger or paky..the forum took the ofencive words off..but by that time i new what thay thought..  
AND iv just found out that were i live the naghbers have been saying ''watch you houses the gipses are geting all the other gipses round ..and the people saying this are what we thought were friends..
DO WE HAVE TO DO MORE TO BE AKSEPTED
OR ARE WE DAMED FOR WATEVER WE DO...
ido no this... the more these people do thes thing's the more i com me own fowky  
ps i have never been locked up for aney thing ..or chored aney thing in my life..but i still worry people?? |

| its the same everywhere...racism i mean...here is a 2 part story that was the front page of the sunday and monday paper where i live back in 2000...and believe me its gotten worse.there is very little truth to what the divya's told the mush from the paper...the rest he made up or twisted words around.

i havnt seen this thread as i wasnt a member in april last year but thought id add my veiws i too joined a horse forum an last october some travellers stopped locally,from what i know they have stopped on that ground for years when passing through,well the horse forum went potty,thinking the travellers would steel whatever they owned,i made a remark that these people have to stop somewhere an not all are theives the same as gorga,no one answered an no1 spoke to me after that.
my eldest daughter has told me not to tell her friends we have gypsies in the family as she said she would get stickfrom her mates(im trying to educate her on this)
in this day an age you are not aloud to say nigger or paki,but for some reason gypo an pikey is ok ?? unfortunately some irish travellers have done quite a few house jobs in my area but then agen how many other people steel or do worse blow people up,murder. i dont know why there is stigma atached to the name,maybe its time to go to parlament an demand that more is done for the gypsies, the more people that come forward surely would help, we bend over backwards for every1 else ,but not for gypsies,ok so we have council sites ,but on their terms, i think thats wrong

| I read yourpostand I can only say that round here where I am they're used to travelers stopping round here thats why i stay here, but,they do torment the travellers if they pull onto a camp.I was telled that some-one thought they shouldnt serve them when i worked in a cafe, I said they where being ridiculas. but none of them came into the cafe any-way.I used to stop with the people when i was young and I never known them to be in trouble. |

the big question is, how can we stop people thinking like they do? ...

will they work or sponge? are they criminals?..and so on?

iv looked on the Internet and heirs some of the reasons people hate all Gipsies!!

i dont think you will ever change some gorgas views , when you see on the tele how some pull on the playing fields and churn the fields up and leave it in such a state
they are not doing themselfs or the rest of the traveling folk any favours.
when i was travling we always stayed down lanes or laybys and commons ..thats just to name a few and we all ways left a place spotless because we earned our living from the gorgas living round us
i think we only stayed in a built up erea once or twice. the odd time we would get moved on was when we could be seen from the main road and we never had to be phisically moved |

but any were to stay is be better than no'were at all ..

Ignorance in the Gorja is rife, a lot of Gorja both adult and child tend to think.. because they like and maybe love horses that it must mean they know all about them, the main thing a gorja misses on is the fact that most horses become leggy between 1 and 2 years old before they start to fill out, a natural accurance due to the foals soft bones too much weight and they would for life have terrible legs, anyways, at this stage the foal can look underfed, the what i call fluff coat can make it look cruely kept especially if the coat as mud or dirt, this over all can make a 'HORSE' (I say Horse cos half of them cant even tell the Difference) can look not cared for, you see the Gorja over all beleives that, if they have an opinion then they MUST be right in their knowledge. throughout my years on this earth I have heard and seen 1st hand the racism against Roms and travellers alike. one of the best i ever experienced was one woman having a moan about some Travellers that had just the day before moved onto a spare bit of land not far from her house, I heard her say "And as for those dirty Gypo's that have made themselves at home down there blah blah blah" with that i looked at her house and noticed her 'used tea bag wannabe net curtains' with which i couldn't help to bring to her attention which caused her audience to scamper away giggling.
I have met a lot of Roms.
Another pet hate of mine is when i hear or see a teacher or any adult try to educate children about racism against 'Gypsies' with their forlorn, sad looking, as if they were talking about a race that is poor and totally fully disabled.
me and my 2 children (my daughter 16 my son 17) went to Seamer horse fair this year and had a brilliant day I had gone down the day previous and again felt greatly welcomed and we all were blessed everytime and luck wished on us with every purchase we made. The police had cordened off Both ends of the road and stood throughout pulling the cordons open to let ppl in and out, even the police had a good fun day with no bother nor problems throughout. the horse fair was done and the following day ppl left and moved on (much to my sadness) Then it happened. In the news paper it was reported that Gypsies had invaded and held a Horse fair causing 1000's of pounds worth of damage how they allowed their horses to graze in their gardens to eat and tread down all the flowers, how they churned up all the grass made it sound like pandamonium. beleive me, None of this was true but the reading had me go back to where the fair had been held to check and it was not much different from how it was before the fair began so I don't know what to say bang30 except that they is good and bad amongst every race color and crede but the Gorja tends to forget that.
