Hi my name is Charlotte and i want to track down some romany gypsy ancestors and existing family. My Granma Judith Movita Young was the daughter of Antony Arthur Boswell Young who died in 81 at the age of 68yrs. We dont have much info on where he was born but we understand he came from down south somewhere he came up North to Blackpool . Antony arthur boswell young had a brother called Reg Young, (Reginald Young) he was born on 1908 on site at Blackpool pleasure beach and also continued to live there. He had recieved an invitation to the qweens garden party at Buckingham Pallace. Reg young and antony had a mother called Maude or maybe even Sarah young or maybe townsend, there is a connection with the surname townsend and lee. Maude or could be sarah read palms in palantine buildings arcade, central prom, Maude had 2 daughters who read palms at olympia, dont know names. Reg young had a son called Angelo Young. There could possibly be a link to Noah Young.

HI, just had confirmation that Maude was born a townsend and her name is a hundred percent Maude not Sarah. Maude had a sister called Flossy.

Flossy was Maudes sister and was born on site in a gypsy tent where the pleasure now stands. Her working name was madame Curl and she worked till 98 yrs of age on the North pier at Blackpool she had two daughters Jean and Dorothy they also worked on the North pier and in the Olypmia. Flossy was the oldest Romany Gypsy on the 8th january 1980, she was 100. As a child she played games around the foundation stone of the tower. This was when camels were as popular as donkeys for pleaure rides. Blackpool evening Gazzette printed that flossy was the oldest romany gypsy at that time. Charlotte, grandaughter of Judith Movita Young. Searching for young, boswell young, please cotact me with n e more info. thanyou
