| i have grown up being told my grandfather was a romany gypsy,but when he was aprox 25 his mum died he left and changed his name i have been in touch with romanyjib and he belives the relatives i should be searching for are the Millens and the Knowles (knowels)not sure of spelling and he thinks maybe my grandfather was not born a gypsy but may have been taken in by them or working for them,my grandfather always got upset if anyone mentioned his past but was also fiercley protective if anyone mentioned romany gypsies in a derogative manor,he also advised me to approach this with care and be careful i really do not wish to upset any of the families or members on here,i just want to know who i am,i am grateful for all advice and comments recieved.
