Do you scrapbook ! I never thought I would but my mother in-law started her own buisness doing it. She even does all-nighters where a bunch of girls, mothers mostly, stay up all night cutting and gluing and such. So a few years ago I started and every 5-6 months I do some pages- just to keep up with my boys pictures ! |

| Hi Sheila, no afraid not. Had a girlfriend years back that used to do a memory box every year. She then puts them away for future reference, hmmm! Top surname by the way. Have you always been in Canada? My grandfather on my mothers side used to build houses on the shores of Lake Ontario, i think it was between the wars. Take care, the nomad |

That sounds like fun Sheila. I did when my daughter was a baby. I got a lock of her hair and some early pics, the scan pic and the newspaper article welcoming her in to the world all in a little book along with what her first words were and just lately I added a few of her drawings to! |

| I have been keeping a scrapbook now for some-time. I keep all the merits my children fetch home from school. I also keep there school reports in it too. the only think now is it's full and its bursting. my eldest is beging secondary school in september so may be I could get one for each of them now. |

Hi folks,
I don't do scrapbooks any more - got to be to much work with the 6 kiddies - so i changed it to keepsake boxs. There are there brilliant boxes with great decoration, they come collapsed and you "pop" them together - they are really good. My eldest have two apiece and the yougest are working on their seconds. But they love doing it - what ever it is from school or home or youth club or what-have-you, they give it to me and when we get a bag full we look through it and place the bits they wanna keep in them. They all have certificates or pics, and also their first tooth or hari from their first hair cut, and also their first shoes etc. But the best bit is that when the eldest boys left home, (the other 4 are still at home), they took their boxes with them and now that one of them is a dad he desperatly wants his baby to see this box when she grows older. He has even begun one for the baby!
I have two of my own from bits me and me mam kept when i was growing up, and now me and the hubbie have one plus another for our wedding day.
The best thing about these boxes is that you can keep things that can't go in a scrapbook - physical things and larger things - as they are large and sturdy. Hehe! Reminds me of those time capsuels i saw on Blue Peter when i was growing up! LOL!
All the best to you all, Shahnee |
