In their tribe whenever a father gives his daughter away to get married it is the utmost pride of the father is to give away his daughter when she is a virgin! This tribe has always made transactions amongst themselves about the price of the bride, their son and daughter are never consulted whether they want to be married or not, everything is arranged by their fathers. In the states this tribe once paid 50 Mexican gold coins for a virgin, and of course she should be at least good looking and from a good family.
Now the father of the groom always tries to show the whole clan that is very generous, and gives cars, or more money to the couple, and if he is rich enough he may buy them a house… the house must have one floor only because no one will visit them if there is a floor above, that is no married women may be above any man… that is called Marheme. Now the father receives the bride on the night of their marriage, he usually sends some elder women to be nearby the couple that is out side the door where the couple will sleep, so that the bride might throw her night gown stained with blood of her virginity. The next day, still at the wedding {it usually is celebrated for two days} these women who were witness to her virginity have big red flags waving in the hall, this shows symbolically her virginity. The grooms father is the happiest man alive, he considers that her virginity will surely bring him luck, and also shows off to the clan that he is rich and is very proud of it, because the rich members in their clan sometimes show their wealth on the wedding in gold or money or even diamonds, this gesture gives him much respect among his clan. Now what I wrote was quite a long time ago, but in some clans it is still valid.
